Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United move, Juventus reveals details, English Premier League

Cristiano Ronaldo today completed his return to Manchester United after 12 years, stating that the club has always had “a special place in my heart”.

United announced last week that they have made an agreement with Juventus to sign the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or and have completed medical examinations and signed the two-year contract, with the option of an extension for another year.

Juventus will be paid a fee of $ 24.2 million over five years. This could be increased by $ 12.9 million depending on the “specific performance goals” achieved by the 36-year-old forward.

“Manchester United are a club that has always held a special place in my heart and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since Friday’s announcement,” said Ronaldo.

“I am looking forward to playing at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and seeing all the fans again. I am looking forward to joining the team after international matches and I hope we have a very successful season ahead of us.”

Title winner with Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo has won the English Premier League three times with United, but the club has not won the title since 2013.

“He is not only a wonderful player, but also a great human being,” said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“Having the desire and the ability to play at the highest level for such a long time requires a very special person.

“I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all and his experience will be so vital to the younger players on the team. Ronaldo’s return demonstrates the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted that he is returning home to where it all started.”

On the day of the transfer deadline, West Ham signed Croatia attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic with a five-year contract from CSKA Moscow.

Additionally, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has signed a contract extension until 2025.

The 31-year-old midfielder has made 394 appearances since joining Sunderland in 2011, scoring 30 goals and winning the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup.
